Zack Snyder Releases Black and White Teaser For Justice League: Director’s cut and The Hype Returns
There looks to be no stopping Zack Snyder’s Justice league when it ultimately releases on HBO Max in 2021. From controversies to new footage to increased budgets, the Justice league hype keeps going and it’s no different today. Zack Snyder dropped the Justice league black and white trailer today, and also a regular colorized version with—get this— some new footage. but there’s a lot more to discuss here than just this trailer, as Snyder has been popping up with new info about Justice league for a couple of days now.
But Wait, Wasn’t There already A Justice league Trailer?

Yes, intrepid reader, you would be absolutely correct in being a little confused, thinking we already got a Justice league Snyder cut trailer. The keenly awaited, completed version of Zack Snyder’s Justice league saw a completely repackaged trailer release during the DC FanDome event. However, the new one is a Justice league black and white trailer, featuring some very brief new shots and new footage. It’s unlikely if the new footage is what has been, or is being, shot as part of Snyder’s reshoots, or if it’s just old footage we hadn’t seen before.

The reason the new black and white trailer, along with the same updated previous trailer got re-released, is due to the trailer getting taken off of YouTube due to some issues with the music copyrights. The trailer has Leonard Cohen’s Hallelujah playing over it, which caused some problems on YouTube. but the new trailer release also brings a new marketing campaign with the hashtag #UsUnited trending on social media. The trend refers to the last line of the trailer, where Batman (Ben Affleck) refers to how Darkseid has never fought them before. Not them, united.
New Justice league Black and White Trailer provides brief but significant new Footage
While trying to keep up to date with everything that’s said, heard about, reported, alleged, and seen in the Justice league Snyder cut can be exhausting, it’s still a little exciting to see new footage. The new trailer is the same one from FanDome, but with some new images of Darkseid, Hypolytta (Connie Neilson), and of Cyborg (Ray Fisher) as well. There’s also a brand new, very clear image of the revised Steppenwolf design from the Snyder Cut. It also seems like the movie is now, officially, Justice League: Director’s Cut.
Zack Snyder’s recent comments Are Revealing

Along with dropping this new black and white trailer, Snyder’s been doing the rounds drumming up more teases for the new trailer, as well as its eventual release on HBO Max. but some of his comments are a little confusing, and feel hard to believe. For example on a recent appearance on beyond The Trailer, Snyder mentions how the additional reshoots for his Justice League, will only yield about 4 minutes of footage. 4 minutes of additional footage in a movie, now a 4-part mini-series, meant to be 4 hours along. It’s also rumored that those additional scenes include those shot with Joe Manganiello’s Deathstroke and Jared Leto’s Joker.
When fitting this piece of the puzzle into the unconfirmed reports that budget for these reshoots climbed to $70 Million, it feels like an expensive 4 minutes. but it’s clear now that the word ‘reshoot’ for that additional footage is the wrong word, as it’s adding extra scenes for context, not reshooting scenes already shot. which makes sense now in hindsight. but I guess we won’t ever be truly able to judge any of this until we see the whole thing in its entirety.
